Liverpool have
told Paris Saint-Germain that Philippe Coutinho is not for sale at any price,
reports The Sun.
PSG are
long-term admirers of the Brazilian and have been trying to lure him away from
Anfield for months.
However,
Coutinho’s impressive start to the season – which has yielded four goals in
eight appearances – means Liverpool have no intention of letting the
24-year-old leave.
The Sun claim
PSG have a £22.5m offer for Coutinho rejected this summer, but with new boss
Unai Emery at the helm, the Ligue 1 champions are willing to table a new offer.
PSG remain
keen on the former Inter Milan man, who joined Liverpool for £8.5m in 2013.
But an exit is
not on the cards for Coutinho, and recent reports have even suggested he will
be offered a new long-term deal to fend off PSG’s interest.
Coutinho only
signed a contract extension 18 months ago, but his importance to the side is
set to make Liverpool act again.
With the
international break now over, Klopp will need Coutinho to continue his form
against rivals Manchester United on Monday (8pm) at Anfield.
