Nothing is out
of line for some politicians. Well, both Fayose and the APC men know
themselves.
The General
Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A Adeboye on
Saturday, visited the palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe,
during a tour of the State as part of the Church’s ‘Let’s Go A Fishing’
programme.
During the
visit, Pastor Adeboye prayed for Governor Fayose and commended him for his
boldness and courage in defence of his people.
Below is how
the APC reacted to Pastor Adeboye's action:
Ekiti State
chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a statement signed by
chairman of the party, Jide Awe, said that the party was alarmed that a cleric
of Adeboye’s standing could praise Governor Fayose inspite of his persistent
insults and abuses on President Muhammadu Buhari.
The statement
added that Adeboye’s comment should be seen as his personal opinion, and not
that of the Redeemed Church.
Awe added that
the fact that Adeboye made the statement during the period when Christ’s birth
is celebrated is to say the least, preposterous
He warned that
Adeboye should be careful of Fayose, who he (Awe) said could bribe even an
angel of God to endorse the devil.
