Kidnapped FRSC officer, wife regain freedom

Ado-Ekiti—The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Oluwafemi Ojo, and his wife, who were abducted by some gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday
along Ogotun-Igbara Odo Road in Ekiti West local government area, have regained freedom.

A family source told newsmen yesterday in Ado-Ekiti that the Officer and his wife, Yemi, who spent four days in the kidnappers den, breathed air of freedom Wednesday night after the family paid a ransom of N1.5 million to their abductors. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N20 million when they contacted the family shortly after the couple were abducted. The source revealed that the kidnappers handed over Mr. and Mrs. Ojo to the representatives of the family in a thick bush located between Igbara Odo and Ikere, where they were moved after being abducted. The source said: “Femi and his wife were released after the family paid N1.5 million to the kidnappers. The money was raised in cash and delivered to them to secure their release.
