Chelsea will
battle Arsenal to land Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard
Antonio Conte
is understood to have been alerted to Lingard’s versatility, with the
24-year-old deemed able to play at wing-back and forward in the Blues boss’
preferred 3-4-3 formation.
Lingard, who
has a year left to run on his current deal at Old Trafford, has also attracted
interest from Arsenal, although The Sun claim the Gunners face stiff
competition from their west London rivals for the England international.
The report
also claims that a new deal with United has not yet been finalised, meaning that
the midfielder’s future remains up in the air
This season
under Jose Mourinho, Lingard has started only nine Premier League games and has
made another five appearances off the bench.
