A silent cry for help - Accident

Accidents are unforeseen events that happen daily. Nobody leaves his/her home while planning for an accident. Accidents occur daily in different places and at
different times, many lives are lost while very few are saved, although a greater percentage of this few end up not remaining their usual selves.

What roles can we play in preventing accidents?

As accidents cannot be foreseen a great task lies ahead of us each day to prevent them from occurring.

Yes we may end up not knowing how to prevent accidents, but what can you do or what do you do in the event of an accident?

As a result of our carelessness,  many victims die on the spot of accident, while at other times, situations which were supposed to be minor tend to become severe.

I have noticed in many places, when an accident occur the first thing people do is to gather around the victims of the accident trying to know the cause of the accident not minding the fact that the victims are in critical danger of survival.

In this modern day, there is the craze of internet . Onlookers these days go to accident scenes to take photos of the event to be later uploaded online, while some others upload such photos instantly undermining the fact that people’s life are at stake.

Many lives can be saved if we put our own selfish interests at bay. The first thing that needs to be done in such cases is to call for an ambulance, render first aid or if need be rush the victims to the hospital.

Instead of wasting time on small talks, the victims should be inspected and the level of severity of their injuries checked or if need be the victims should be properly checked for any serious complications.

An accident victim suffering from shock can be saved if given adequate care immediately.

Fellow Nigerians save lives, leave the gist for tomorrow, don’t drive pass accident victims; your wife, husband, brother, dear friend could be one of such victims. No one prays for evil but sufficient for each day are its problems.

An alarming occurrence is that hospitals these days refuse to treat accident victims even if their situation is fatal. Let us have a kind heart.

Doctor save a life, one life is far better than thousands of naira. If such is done to your love one *doctor*, how heartless will you say those doctors are?
Put God first, value humanity and save lives.
