The
controversial probe into the financial dealings of the Sanusi Lamido Led
Emirate council has been suspended by the Kano state government's
anti-corruption agency.
The state's
public complaints and the anti-corruption agency was investigating the emirate
over an alleged misappropriation of N6 billion. The suspension of the
investigation was announced by the chairman of the anti-corruption body, Mr
Muhyi Gado. He stated that,
the
commission could not continue the probe because the Kano state house of
assembly launched a separate investigation of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi.
He declined
to comment further. Politics Nigeria discovered that the state's house of
assembly was already investigating Sanusi on allegations of funds
misappropriation, breach of oath of office/oath of allegiance, abuse of office,
defamation of character, and political and religious interference.
