Former
Minister of Health and the Executive Director of the United Nations Populations
Fund, UNFPA, Babatunde Osotimehin, has died. According to Family
sources, he
died in the early hours of today June 5th after a protracted illness.
68 year old
Osotimehin was also a former Director General of the National Action Committee
on AIDS (NACA).
He was a one
time Provost of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. He was appointed
the new Executive Director of UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, for a
four-year term on November 19th 2010 and afterwards reappointed for another
term. May his soul rest in peace Amen.
