A
25-year-old, Chigozie Igwe, a native of Umuofor, Umumumo, in Ehime Mbano Local
Council of Imo State, has hung himself, due to what he attributed to his
joblessness.
The
deceased, who was found in one of the rooms in their family house, according to
the note he dropped before committing suicide, accused the world of being
wicked to him through hardship and joblessness. The suicide not read: “Die,
die, die. Let nobody weep for me because, I am tired of this wicked world.’’
The late
Chigozie, The Guardian learnt was frustrated after leaving secondary school
many years ago, without securing a job. People in their area said the deceased
had complained painfully few days before the ugly incident that the suffering
was too much and unbearable.
Family
members, friends and relations of the deceased were gathered as at the time
journalists visited the scene, crying profusely.
The
deceased’s mother, Mrs. Anthonia Igwe, who was angered by the act, said:
‘’Chigozie, is this the way you chose to leave this world? Remember that you
have committed an abomination and you will go to the worst part of the hell.”
Police
operatives at the council, confirmed the incident. They said preliminary
investigations had commenced. In Onitsha, Anambra State, panic ensued at the
International Electronics Market, when traders discovered a decomposing body
swept to the area by flood.
Sources said
the traders began to perceive offensive odour in the market and began to search
the vicinity, resulting in the discovery of the decomposing body.
The
Financial Secretary of the market, Onyeka Azubike, who spoke to Journalists
said, “the flood dumped the corpse because the drainage system that passes
through the market was blocked at the entrance gate behind a company adjacent
to the market.”
