The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four gangs of
kidnappers and cattle rustlers in Dass Council of the state.Briefing newsmen
yesterday, the command Public
Relations Officer, Kamal Datti, a Deputy
Superintendent of Police (DSP), said four victims were also rescued from the
kidnappers, including a nursing mother.
The suspected kidnappers include Buba Maikudi, 26; Ishaka
Muhammadu, 19; Ibrahim Isa, 23; and Buba Sale, 40.He said apart from
kidnapping, the suspects also robbed their victims and took away 72 cows valued
at N800, 000.
Those allegedly kidnapped were Ya’u Sale, 26; Musa Hassan,
23; Da”u Hassan, 20; and Binta Mohammed, 17, along with her four-month-old
baby.Datti disclosed that the suspects demand N500, 000 ransom for the release
of Binta, who was, however, rescued alive and rushed to the hospital for
treatment and medical observations.
According to Guardian, He said items recovered from the suspects include 30 cows, 10
sheep, one Dane gun, two cutlasses and a charm.The command spokesman said
during the week under review, the command arrested three vehicles and four
motorcycle snatchers in the state, adding that all the cases are under
investigation, after which the suspects would be charged to court, if found
culpable.He called on the public to report any suspicion movement in their
areas to the Police for prompt action.
