Seven people
were wounded in a knife attack in the Russian city of Surgut and the man, who
apparently stabbed passers-by on the street at random, was shot dead by
police.
State-owned
RIA Novosti news agency reports that the injured people have been taken to
hospital, where two are in a critical condition.
Russia's
Investigations Committee said it had identified the attacker and was checking
his psychological history. The attacker was a local resident born in 1994. So
far, no motive has been established yet.
