The sour
relationship between Liverpool and Mamadou Sakho has ended, with the defender
joining Crystal Palace for £26 million.
The defender
had agreed terms with Crystal Palace, but had to wait for both clubs to agree a
fee, before penning a five-year contract.
Crystal
Palace had three offers for Sakho rejected, but a deal was finally agreed on
deadline day, even though it is £4 million less than what Liverpool wanted.
Sakho had
problems with Klopp last season , having broken club rules on three different
occasions in pre-season.
He was also
in a drawn out battle with UEFA, over a doping charge he was cleared of, but
broke contractual obligations, by taking substances not sanctioned by the
Liverpool medical team.
Sakho
followed that incident with a Snapchat rant, that ended his relationship with
Liverpool. He stopped playing for the club since April 2016.
