'President Buhari’s visit to the South-East is not politically motivated – Femi Adesina

Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has denied speculations that President Buhari's visit to the South East is politically m
otivated. Some Nigerians have opined that the president's 2-day visit is to win the love of the Igbos so they can vote for him come 2019.

However, speaking on Channels TV last night, Adesina said that this cannot be true and that if it was politically motivated, President Buhari will not kick off his 'campaign' in a state controlled by PDP.
Addressing the allegation that President Buhari had sidelined the South East in appointments since assuming office, Adesina said
“Talking about appointments from the region, if you were here today in the places where the President was received, what is just the general opinion, what they have been asking for is just ‘more.’ It is not as if we have not gotten anything, they say thank you for the ones we have but we want more. And if you ask people from other parts of the country, it will be the same request, it will be the same sentiment. Thank you for what you have given us, but we want more. So, it not only one region of the country that has issues about being under-appointed or under-represented in govt, almost every region can lay claim to that,”.
