The Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), in conjunction with
the Nigerian Council of Physicians of Natural Medicine (NCPNM), held a three-
day training workshop on steps to commercialize Nigeria’s herbal medicinal
products.
Chief (Dr.) Oluyomi Finnih, proprietor of Finnih Hospital, Ikeja,
chaired the workshop, while Prof. Babatunde Lawal Salako, Director-General of
NIMR was the chief host.
Vanguardngr reported that in his opening address, Prof. Magnus Adeyemi Atilade, President of NCPNM,
emphasized the need for both natural medicine and orthodox medicinal
practitioners to work together in the overall interest of the nation.
He called
on all natural medicine practitioner to submit samples of their products to the
centre for research in traditional, complementary and alternative medicine for
verification and confirmation.
Atilade called on the National Assembly to
expedite action on the Bill on Natural/Traditional Medicine.
