Brazil head
coach Tite has confirmed some of the players who will be in his squad for this
summer’s World Cup in Russia.
The
56-year-old has somewhat surprisingly revealed 15 of the 23 players who will be
on the plane in June, with Chelsea’s Willian, Manchester City duo Fernandinho
and Gabriel Jesus on the list.
Liverpool’s
Roberto Firmino has also been named, while his former Merseyside teammate
Philippe Coutinho also makes the cut, as well as ex-Tottenham midfielder
Paulinho.
Fifa allows
nations to initially submit a 25-man provisional squad, before naming their
final 23-man list on June 4
Tite even
went as far as revealing his starting XI before naming both Willian and
Fernandinho as squad members.
“The 11 who
will start are Alisson; Marcelo, Miranda, Marquinhos, Daniel Alves; Paulinho,
Renato Augusto and Casemiro, Neymar, Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus,” Tite said in
an interview with UOL Esportes.
