Mr Fred
Obua, the Commissioner for Special Projects, Bayelsa State, reportedly slumped
on Tuesday and was rushed out of a briefing to mark the sixth anniversary of
Governor Seriake Dickson in office.
It was
gathered that Obua, who was to make presentation at the inter-ministerial
briefing suddenly slumped and was immediately rushed out of the Cultural
Centre, Yenagoa, to an undisclosed private clinic.
The briefing
was a prelude to the main event of the sixth anniversary of the Dickson
administration which is scheduled to hold on February 14.
The Master
of Ceremony (MC), Mrs Tari Oweifawari, had earlier announced that Obua would be
making a presentation at the event but later informed the audience that the
commissioner was “indisposed.”
According to
Oweifawari, the Commissioner was having health challenges that won’t enable him
speak at the briefing.
Reacting to
the development, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Daniel
Iworiso-Markson told journalists that Obua could not wait to make his
presentation due to his health.
“What do you
want me to say, the man was rushed out because he has health challenge; he
cannot wait for the presentation,” he told reporters when asked about Obua.
“He was to
present but due to his health, he was rushed out.
“I don’t
want this matter to be published and anyone who writes the story will be dealt
with.”
