The Lagos
State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has officially installed His Royal
Majesty, Oba Muritalab Aremu Ogun-Oloko, Adeori-Okin1, as the Olu of Iwaya, in
Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the state.
Ambode who
was represented by the Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and
Community Affairs, Hon. Muslim Olohuntele Folami, presented staff of office and
instrument of appointment to the new monarch, at the Yaba LCDA Area office.
The governor
urged Traditional Rulers to safeguard government infrastructure within their
domains and environs. “You need to collaborate with the state government in
guiding jealously all infrastructural amenities provided by the state, which is
for the betterment of your communities.
“As a
custodian of the culture and tradition of your people, you should be seen as a
rallying point for the maintenance of communal peace and social development. I
want to implore the youths and residents of this community to desist from
cultism and hooliganism, and embrace good habits,” he said.
