At least six
fake delegates and thugs were arrested during the rescheduled governorship
primary in Ekiti state Saturday.
They reportedly
attempted to force their way into the venue of the election. Vanguard gathered
that they engaged the security operatives who manned the gate as they insisted
in going into the hall to vote without being a delegate.
One of the
hoodlums after much argument was discovered to have on his neck a charm wrapped
in a red piece of cloth. Those arrested claimed to be delegates from various
council areas of the state but could not produce any evidence that they are
accredited delegates in the exercise.
A large sum
of money was found in their possession. They were later handed over to police
detectives from the CID division in the state.
Following
the ugly development, security at the entrance to the venue of the exercise
were fortified.
All those
who passed through the two entrances were frisked to their pants by both the
police and officers of the DSS.
