Governor Okezie
Ikpeazu has assured indigent people that all hope is not lost.
The Governor gave
the assurance while distributing food items provided by Aisha Buhari Foundation
to indigent Abians.
Governor Ikpeazu
thanked the Wife of the President for the wonderful initiative, describing the
distribution of food items as a spiritual thing, stressing that it is necessary
to remember the poor.
He maintained that
taking care of less privileged ones is the apex of every religion, saying that
it is a culture of Igbo people to care for the indigents among them.
He assured the
beneficiaries that God will heal their inabilities so that they will be able to
provide for themselves.
The Governor prayed
God to bless those who provided for the indigents, informing that what they did
is a point of contact to God blessings.
Presenting the
speech of the Wife of Mr President, the Wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Nkechi
Ikpeazu disclosed that the choice of Abia was not because there are many
indigent persons in Abia but for the love she has for Abia, assuring that more
food items will come.
Mrs. Buhari
commended the wife of Abia Governor for her projects and called on people to
cue in in caring for the indigents, saying that, by that the society will be
better.
Earlier, the
Chairman of the event, Mr Eric Opah thanked Mrs. Buhari & Mrs Nkechi
Ikpeazu for the remarkable event.
He called on fellow
business men to partner with the government in supporting the programme and
pledged to continue to identify with the wife of Abia State Governor
