While Nigerian acts are advised to cut down on their big spending’s due
to the economic hardship facing the country, Wizkid maybe
far from feeling the economic meltdown as word has it that the Ojuelegba singer
could be signing the biggest ever
deal an African act have signed so far with
music power house Sony Music Entertainment and RCA Records today,
Tuesday, 13 September 2016.
According to Pulse, a source confirmed to the news tabloid that the deal
could be signed and announced today. The source said; “There’s something big
coming up for Wizkid, and it happened while he was in America.
The deal will be
the biggest ever signed by an African, and signifies progress for the music
business on the continent”
While we would be waiting for an official confirmation from both or any
party involved, the deals seems to supersede that of Davido who has also
complained about the way Sony has treated his musical career so far.
Could
Wizkid be complaining about that in the nearest future should he sign the
deal?, lets cross our fingers and watch closely.
However, the Baba Nla crooner has had a successful career and also
recorded tracks with various international acts, the likes of Drake, Sean Paul,
Swiss Beatz, Chris Brown and several others. Also not forgetting his feature on
Drakes’ One Dance which has had the world going as they topped the Billboard
Hot 100 charts for a long long time.
