Arda Turan says he
hopes to end his career with Barcelona after playing in all seven league games
this season.
Turan has featured
on a regular basis this season, however, scoring five times in 10 appearances
for the Spanish champions
Turan, 29, joined
Barca last year, and told Radyospor: “Barcelona are the best team in the world.
“I feel I belong to
this jersey. If I’m needed for just one minute, I’ll play for just one minute.
If I’m needed to stay on the bench then I’m going to stay on the bench.
“And I give
everything I have when I’m in starting line-ups. My coach is always showing me
that he’s pleased with me.
“I want to end my
career at Barcelona.”
The midfielder will
remain with Barca during the ongoing international break after being left out
of Turkey’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and
Iceland.
Turan was dropped by
head coach Fatih Terim after a disappointing Euro 2016 campaign but the 94-time
international insists he is ready to answer his country’s call, if asked.
‘My purpose is
always to help Turkish football,’ he said.
‘I promise to do
everything in my power to serve that purpose. They open their arms and I’ll
come, they don’t and I won’t.’
