Asaba—While
reviewing the performances of key officials of the ruling Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, in Delta State, the Delta Political Vanguard has passed a vote of
confidence on the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Speaker of the House of
Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya and Olorogun Williams Makinde, Managing Director
of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.
Also
recognised was the performance of Delta State PDP chairman, Mr. Kingsley Esiso,
and Mr Michael Diden-led executive council in their service to Deltans and
humanity in general.
The vote of
confidence was passed, yesterday, during the group’s emergency meeting in Asaba
to review activities of the governor and others, which it described as a
solidarity meeting to encourage them to do more. Prince Orhomonokpaye, the
Publicity Secretary of Sapele branch of the Delta Political Vanguard, who moved
the vote of confidence on the occasion, said: “The confidence vote on the
governor became necessary following his ability to bridge the ethnic gaps in
the state and his uncommon ability to manage the scarce resources accruing to
the state since he assumed office.” “The confidence vote on Chief Igbuya, Mr
Esiso, Olorogun Makinde and Mr Diden (Ejele) is also sequel to the tenacious
and diligent services to the party and the state which have impacted positively
on the lives of all Deltans.” The move was subsequently seconded by Athony
Edafiogho before adoption by the entire group.
