Two armed robbery
suspects were killed while one escaped after a shootout with the police in
Warri, Delta State. The three suspects reportedly robbed their victim at gun
point about 2:00pm Tuesday, November 1st and dispossessed of him of the sum of
N300, 000, three handsets and other valuables before fleeing on a tricycle.
However, the
victim sent a distress call to men of the anti-robbery squad, got into his car
and traced the suspects to Agbassa junction, between Warri/Sapele road. The
police gave the suspects a hot chase and a gun battle ensued which lead to the
death of two of the suspects, while the third escaped.
A senior
police source said one cut-to-size pistol, the tricycle used by the suspects,
one live cartridge and two expended cartridges were recovered from the gang.
