Killings these days
is sure becoming something else. A young man of 20, Joshua Johnson, has been
stabbed to death by a commercial motorcyclist (Okada rider) on
Akanni Street,
Ahmadiya, Lagos.
The Okadaman, who's
said to be on the run, also inflicted injury on the deceased's friend,
identified as Gbenga. What led to the fight and stabbing to death?
It was gathered that
the late Joshua Johnson, Gbenga and one other friend, Segun, had gone to reveal
at Glasshouse, an event centre in the New Oko-Oba, Agege, area of Lagos
The friends were
said to have taken two Okada while returning home around 12am on Sunday.
On getting to their
area, Akanni Street, where Johnson and Gbenga wanted to alight, an argument was
said to have ensued between them and the Okadaman over the fare, which
degenerated into a fight.
A resident of the
area, Sola Kamaru told Punch that the Okadaman stabbed Johnson and Segun in the
process and fled the scene.
The incident
happened around 1am on Sunday. Police say they are on the trail of the Okadama.
Sadly, Johnson died
just one hour after seeing the new year.
