After few
years of speculation, superstar singer Adele Adkins has confirmed that she is
married to Simon Konecki. The couple have a four-year-old son, Angelo, but Adele
has for many years been evasive about her marital status.
But on Sunday
she gave her fans a much-desired confirmation at a concert in Brisbane,
Australia.
She said,
“That feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth.
“And I am
addicted to that feeling. Obviously, I can’t go through with those feelings
because I’m married now. I’ve found my next person.”
Konecki is a
former financier who founded drop4drop, a charity that presses for global
access to clean drinking water.
During last
month’s Grammy Awards, Adele while receiving her plaque, had given a strong
hint that she was married to Konecki.
“My husband
and my son – you’re the only reason I do it,” she had said.
Adele won the
top three categories of the Grammys – Best Album, Best Record, and Best Song –
for the hugely successful album, 25.
The Briton won
a total of five awards on the night.
