Legendary
Nigerian musician, Segun Bucknor has died at the age of 71.
Late Segun was the father of popular OAP, Tosyn Bucknor and
events manager, Funke Bucknor
.
He was one
of the pioneers of the early Nigerian music sound, learning the art from the
legendary Roy Chicago of the highlife fame. In the 60’s and 70’s, he led a
highlife/afrobeat band called the Hot Four and later renamed as Segun Bucknor
and the Soul Assembly to make iconic records like Lord Give Me Soul and I’ll
Love You Anyhow.
