Three people
were killed and several were injured in Mississippi following a hayride
accident on Monday night, officials said.
Mississippi
Highway Patrol Capt. Johnny Poulos said the accident happened on U.S. Highway
80 in the small town of Chunky. He said it appears a vehicle struck a flat-bed
trailer carrying people just before 8 p.m.
Poulos said
three people were killed on the trailer.
Newton County
Coroner Danny Shoemaker told Mississippi News Now that one adult
and two children died in the accident. The victims were all related to eachother.

waiting for a hospital helicopter.
Three
helicopters and several ambulances took injured people to three hospitals. Some
involved in the accident reportedly had life-threatening injuries.
Investigators
were on the scene late Monday.
