An herbalist, Mr.
Tunde Banjo, and one Nurudeen Adeniyi, have been arrested by police in Ijebu –
Igbo, the headquarters of Ijebu North local government area of Ogun State, for
allegedly killing a 16- year old girl identified as Olayinka.
The police also
arrested a 19 -year old Tobi Ogunkoya who allegedly lured the deceased into the
hands of Banjo and Adeniyi.
The trio were
arrested on Tuesday following frantic search for the girl’s whereabouts.
A source in Ijebu –
Igbo told The Nation that Olayinka was murdered for ritual purposes as her
breasts were ripped open by her killers.
The Acting spokesman
for Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “at 2:30pm, one Serifat
Adebanjo reported the the abduction of Olayinka and Tobi Ogunkoya was a suspect
in the abduction.
“Acting on the
information, the police stormed a house behind Baale house in Imosan community
and apprehended Tobi Ogunkoya who confessed that Olayinka is in the custody of
Tunde Banjo in Ijebu – Igbo.
“Ogunkoya took
policemen to Tunde Banjo’s home in Ijebu – Igbo, met him and Nurudeen Adeniyi
(an Alfa) and arrested them. The police
also recovered two fresh human hearts and a life tortoise from them.”
